Haridwar Full Day Tour

The  tour of Haridwar begins with a walk the Bara Bazaar, the busy market, lined with shops selling souvenirs and local crafts from where you will take a cable car to the hilltop location of the Mansa Devi Temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Mansa Devi, who is thought to grant wishes. After the temple visit proceed to see the Shantikunj Ashram, the Jain Temple, and the Daksha Mahadev Temple.  Later in the evening go to Har Ki Pauri to participate in a Ganga Aarti ceremony. During this ceremony, a Hindu priest offers prayers (aarti) to the Ganga River, believed to be the Divine Mother. During the 45-minute ritual, conducted at sunset, you'll make offerings of flowers and partake in puja with a Hindu priest. Watch locals light large fire bowls on the riverbanks and listen to Sanskrit mantras.  After the ceremony, you'll be dropped back at your hotel.

 

• Visit the landmarks of the holy city, including the Bara Bazaar, Daksha Mahadev Temple, Jain Temple, and Shantikunj Ashram
• Ride the cable car to Mansa Devi temple
• After dark, witness a Hindu ceremony on the banks of the Ganges River
