Malana Trek is a lesser-heard trek in the Parvati Valley and indulges in an exciting 5 days trekking expedition in Malana village in Himachal Pradesh. Malana Village near Parvati valley is known for its unique secluded culture and ancient democratic traditions of small tribal community of tribal people, who has a unique culture and their own democratic government. This Tour gives you an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Himalayas with astonishing Nature and is being crafted in such a way that a traveler should experience the legacy of cultural richness and the scenic beauty of the Himalayas in India so that his travelling to India should not only be a journey for him but an experience in itself.

Itinerary

Day 1

Naggar – Stelling

Drive from Manali to Naggar by road (23 Kms) and from here the trek starts for Stelling with a visit to famous ROERICH ART GALLERY and LEGENDRY NAGGAR CASTLE. Camp at Stelling.

Day 2

Stelling – Ghankalari

Finish your breakfast and then start your trek to the Ghankalari camp site. The trek goes through some dense forest full of pine, fir, oaks, chestnuts trees. The trek involves moderate ascend and will take around 3 to 4 hours. Stop at Sterling for lunch. Stay overnight in tents at Ghankalari camp site.

Day 3

Ghankalari – Chandrakhani Pass – Nagruni

Start the trek early in the morning by 06:00 AM. It takes around 4-5 hours to reach to the top of Chandrakhani Pass (3,660 meters) from Ghankalari camp site. Enjoy your packed lunch at Chandrakhani top. Post to it, descend for Nagruni camp site. The route from here is descending and will take around 3 hours. Stay overnight in tents at Nagruni camp site.

Day 4

Nagruni – Ghotta Garahan – Malana

Today you will have the trek to Malana from Nagruni and it takes around 4 to 5 hours. The trek route has a moderate descend all the way. En route you can see a small village name Dudhon. The villagers are Malani people who have settled there for cultivation. Malana is a unique village with its own unique culture. Its claimed to be the oldest democracy and the local believe that they are the descendants of Alexandar. The village has its own law book and rules. Outsiders are not allowed to touch any of the books and things. Stay overnight in tents at Malana base camp.

Day 5

Malana – Manali

Today, you will be descending to Malana Dam. The route is steep descend but short and does not take more than an hour. Later drive back to Manali from here.
