Introduction

The duration of trek from Brandy Nalla to Hemis is about 13 days. The best time to do this trek is from mid June to End of September. The journey begins at Manali where we drive through Sarchu. We cross the Baralacha Pass and camp at Brandy Nalla, the start of this trek. This trek gives you an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Himalayas with astonishing Nature. One can see the vivid culture of North India and is a full fun and adventure package. This tour is being crafted in such a way that a traveler should experience the legacy of cultural richness and the scenic beauty of the Himalayas in India so that his travelling to India should not only be a journey for him but an experience in itself.

Itinerary

Day 1

Manali – Jispa

Morning drive to Jispa via Keylong a popular village for "green peas" crossing over the Rohtang Pass (3987 mt). In the afternoon arrive at Jispa and checking at the hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure, one can walk around the Jispa village.

Day 2

Jispa – Sarchu – Brandy Nala

Drive to Sarchu (3600 mt) via Baralacha La (4800 mt). Drive little ahead and camp at Brandy Nala – the starting point of this exiting trek.

Day 3

Brandy Nala – Tak – Morang La base

The trek is easy following the Beas River. After trekking for an hr, leave the river and trek up to reach a camping place at the base of Morang La Pass at 3900 mt. set-up camp for overnight stay.

Day 4

Morang La base – Morang La – Lun

The trek is steep climb till Morang La (5300 mt). After some rest at top, start descending on other side. The trek is steep down-hill in the beginning which later opens-up in a broad plateau. Camp in a green patch at Lun (4100 mt).

Day 5

Lun – Yabuk

A morning walk through remote barren plateau of Rupshu Valley leads us to a gentle pass. We can see amazing gorge of Zara Chu from the top. After crossing at shallow point we continue following upriver till Yakbu, a green pasture with grazing Yaks.

Day 6

Yabuk – Lungmoche

Trek to Lungmo Che (4000 mt). Start the trek along the river. En route cross a small village 'Sangth'. You may meet some Tibetan Nomad groups en route.

Day 7

Lungmoche – Yar-La – Dat

Morning trek to cross Yar La Pass (4970 Mts). The climb is long but gentle till top. The Yar La offers fantastic views of Rupsu Plains. Arrive Dat (4200 mt) which is a permanently inhabited village. On arrival set-up camp for overnight stay.

Day 8

Dat – Sorra

In the morning visit a small Gelukpa Monastery at Dat village. We can simply call this day “Best walk of trek” Walking this day inside a very narrow canyon with stunning change of sights after every step. Set-up camp near the river for overnight stay.

Day 9

Sorra – Zalung Karpo La – base Camp

In the morning visit a small Gelukpa Monastery at Dat village. We can simply call this day “Best walk of trek” Walking this day inside a very narrow canyon with stunning change of sights after every step. Set-up camp near the river for overnight stay.

Day 10

Sorra – Zalung Karpo La – Base Camp

Start trek with climb to a small pass for about 1 hr. From this point, you can see The great climb of Zalung Karpo La (5200 mt.). From the pass we will be rewarded by great views towards Kangyatse massif and adjacent Rubrang La, which we cross during our Remote Zanskar trek. walk steep downhill till we find first campsite.

Day 11

Base Camp – Langtang Chu

Morning trek to Langtang Chu - (5-6 Hrs). This day one has to cross many small streams. The trek is easy downhill till at camp site near Langtang Chu at 4350 mt.

Day 12

Langtang Chu – Nimaling

Morning trek to Nimaling - enroute we cross Markha River and many Ladakhi peasants working in there fields.

Day 13

Nimaling – Kangmarula – Chukirmo

Morning start climbing to Kongmaru La (5030 m). After some rest descend on other side of pass. The descend is steep in the beginning and gradual after about and hr of trek before entering a narrow valley. At some stretch, the trek passes through very narrow gorge. The valley opens at Chukirmo. Continue little further to Chukirmo and set-up camp near tea house for overnight stay.

Day 14

Chukirmo – Shangsumdo – Hemis – Leh

Trek till Shang Sumdo (road head). Drive to Hemis Monastery. It is one of the most famous and impressive monastery of Leh. Visit the monastery and later drive to Leh.
