Introduction

As is characteristic of the landscape of this tiger reserve, the word 'Melghat' means the confluence of several 'ghats' or valleys. Melghat tiger reserve is situated in Maharashtra's Amravati district. Melghat Tiger Reserve is situated in Central India, named Gawilgarh Hill, on the southern offshoot of the Satpura Hill Range. It was established in 1967 as a sanctuary for wildlife, and in 1974 it was declared a tiger reserve. Experience the excitement of seeing the bengal tiger in their abode along with many other animals.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Indore-Melghat (Approximately 280 kms.) (By Private vehicle)

Jungle Safari Arrive in Melghat from Indore and check into your accommodation. After breakfast and relaxation, enjoy a jungle safari to explore the beauty of this tiger reserve. You might be able to spot the other famous species, other than Tigers, are Sloth Bear, Indian Gaur, Sambar deer, Leopard, Nilgais, etc. In various areas of Melghat, the endangered and 'back from extinction' Forest Owlet is also present. Rest of the day is free. Overnight stay in Melghat.

Day 2

Local Sightseeing & departure

Jungle Safari This morning after breakfast, enjoy another jungle safari with the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight drive back to Indore.
