As is characteristic of the landscape of this tiger reserve, the word 'Melghat' means the confluence of several 'ghats' or valleys. Melghat tiger reserve is situated in Maharashtra's Amravati district. Melghat Tiger Reserve is situated in Central India, named Gawilgarh Hill, on the southern offshoot of the Satpura Hill Range. It was established in 1967 as a sanctuary for wildlife, and in 1974 it was declared a tiger reserve. Experience the excitement of seeing the bengal tiger in their abode along with many other animals.
