About:
The Chandragiri Fort in Tirupati was constructed in the 11th Century by King Shivappa Nayaka of the Nayaka dynasty, is yet another popular tourist attraction in the sacred town and is situated between dense, green forest, and adventurous treks. The Fort is a brilliant example of Indo-Sarcen architecture from the Vijayanagara period and is built using stone, lime mortar, brick, and devoid of timber. One of the striking features of the Fort is the Raja Mahal, which is now an archaeological Museum. There were more than 800 temples of Vaishnava and Shaiva community around the Fort that are all ruinedentirely. However, the ruins of the Rani Mahal and Raja Mahal are still found. There is a Swarnmukhi River near this fort that has its origin point.
