About:
Dindigul fort is located around 400 km away from Chennai in the city of Dindigul in Tamil Nadu and is believed to be built to protect the country from the army of Mysore by the Nayakas of Madurai. Later, it was rebuilt by Haider Ali and finally was captured by the British in 1790, who ruled it till 1860. Presently, the fort is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India.
