About:
Firoz Shah Kotla Fort was built by Feroz Shah Tuglaq in the year 1354 has a unique presence of three different structures, the Ashokan pillar of third century BC which was first erected by King Ashoka between 273 and 236 BC in Topra Kalan, Yamunanagar district and it was left there later by one of the Mauryan emperors. Feroz Shah brought it here from Ambala, Jami Masjid (Mosque) and a Baoli (step well) besides a vast garden area. The Baoli here served as a summer retreat for the Royalties. Feroz Shah Tughlaq established the fortified city of Firuzabad in 1354 as the new capital of the Delhi Sultanate. He ruled Delhi from 1351 to 1384.
