About:
Gol Gumbad also known as Gol Gumbaj in Bijapur, one of the finest and beautiful monument of India was built by Muhammad Adil Shah in the year of 1656 and took about 20 years after the beginning of the construction to be completed and is largely visited by travellers from all across the world. This 124 feet in diameter dome is the second largest dome in the world after St Peter's Basilica in Rome and stands without any support or columns which reflects the great engineering and architectural skill of the artisans of that time. Even the faintest whisper inside the structure reverberates throughout Gol Gumbaz. You can hear the faint sound for nine times.
