About:
Ram Bagh which is originally known as Aram Bagh and as the name suggest (Garden of Rest ) is a beautiful Persian Garden and the oldest Mughal garden in India and it is the perfect example char bagh in which water flows down three terraces in a sequence of cascades. It is also designed in same style in a three-level pattern having flowers and vegetables on the first level, flower beds on the second; and tanks on the third one. As per the historians Akbar proposed his third wife who was the gardener there. He lay there idle for six days until she accepted the proposal. It is also said Jahangir stayed in this garden until March in 1621 for the most auspicious hour for him to enter Agra after he took over Fort of Kangra. Jahangir preserved the architecture of the area in his reign and the garden still demonstrates the skills of his wife Nur Jahan as a garden designer.
