About:
Rani Roopmati Pavilion is a beautiful historical place in the city of Mandu. It is situated on a hill top at the back side of the palace of Baz Bahadur and can be easily associated with the romantic name of Roopmati.
If we take a closer look it is clearly evident that the building has gone two or three stages of construction in different periods. And from the East the main structure can be seen which consists of a low but a huge hall with two rooms at both ends. The remaining part is built on the western side on a hill slope to form a basement and have number of openings to support the ceilings. The western part has a large cistern for the passage of rain water during the monsoon through a channel running from the roof to the reservoir below.
