About:
The Bhojpur temple is a semi constructed Jain Temple in Bhojpur built during the 11th century by Paramara king Bhoja. Because of its non completion it lacks proper inscriptions but the name Bhojpue links it with King Bhoja and it is supported by the temple’s sculptures
However, the Bhojpur temple is the only surviving shrine that can be attributed to Bhoja with some certainty.
With the passage of time this historical site started weakening of regular storage of rain water and other natural calamities. Therefore in the year 1951 it was handed over to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for its conservation and restoration, according to the Ancient Monuments Preservation Act 1904. During the early 1990s, the ASI repaired the damaged steps of the platform and the sanctum, and also restored the missing ones. It also restored the facade on the north-west corner of the temple.
