About:
Taj Mahal was built in the memory of Mumtaz Mahal by Shah Jahan. It is considered to be the true symbol of love built with white marble and is one of the sven wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is actually a mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648 by order of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and is a masterpiece of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired beauty of the world's heritage. It location at the banks of the River Yamuna increases it beauty especially on Full Moon Night. A large number of tourists from all over the world come to have a view of this spectacular monument. To build this wonder masons, stone-cutters, inlayers, carvers, painters, calligraphers, dome builders and other artisans were brought from the whole of the empire and also from the Central Asia and Iran. Ustad-Ahmad Lahori was the main architect of the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is considered to be the greatest architectural achievement in the whole range of Indo-Islamic architecture.
