About:
The Relic Stupa of Vaishali is one of the eight stupas which are built over the remains of Buddha and was built during the 5th century BC during the Mauryan Rule which measured only 8.07 meter in diameter and later it was enlarged by the Sungas and the Kushanas by putting bricks and increasing the height of the Stupa and raising the plinth. The remains were distributed among eight claimants, one being the Lichchavis of Vaishali. A remarkable discovery has been done during the excavation from which they have discovered antiques like the relic casket containing ashes mixed with earth, a punch marked coin, some beads and gold objects.
